Incredible historic lodge located just outside Lion’s Head, near Stoke’s Bay on over 12 acres of lawn, forest and on the edge of Ira Lake. Once knows as Colonel’s Clarke’s Tavern, this lodge has decades of history and much of the original charm has been kept intact.
The large Great Room has massive, vaulted ceilings, a floor to ceiling stone fireplace with an airtight insert for a cozy evening by the fire. Plenty of dining tables for up to 14 Guests, a pool table, a bar, a conference room and the primary kitchen opens to countertop seating…who doesn’t love a kitchen party! A secondary kitchen gives you the rooms and storage needed for large groups.
The original wooden staircase leads to a wide upper hall that overlooks the Great Room and gives entry to 4 of the 7 Guest rooms. These 4 Guest rooms have Queen sized beds and each has their own private bathroom. These bedrooms have a door leading out to a very lovely deck tucked into the trees with patio furniture. The suites are located just a little further down and all 3 have Queen sized beds and a 4 -piece ensuite bathrooms.
There is a screened-in seating area just out front off the great room, great for outdoor dining and enjoying the fresh air. Beautiful stone patio with patio furniture out front is great for enjoying the balmy summer nights under the stars.
Whether you are looking for a small getaway with friends or family or wanting to host the company conference up on the Peninsula, this is where you want to be.
There are plenty of trails, parks and beaches in the area and enough activities to enjoy all four seasons!

A signed Rental Agreement is required for each booking.
This property is on well and septic. We do not guarantee portability of water so please bring water for drinking and cooking. Please conserve on water, especially during dry periods. Only human waste and minimal toilet paper is to be flushed down toilet. No plastic, rubber, hair, grease, etc. is to be flushed or put in any drains.
Any cost to repair damage to the cottage or property caused during your stay will be the responsibility of the registered Tenant.
RESERVATIONS: A deposit of 50% of the total rental amount plus a $95 Booking Fee is due upon reservations. The balance is due 30 days prior to the commencement of your rental period. Payments must be made in full by the due date or your reservation cannot be guaranteed. Payment can be made with Cash or by Interac Email Money Transfer.
OUR CANCELLATION POLICY: In the event that you need to cancel your reservation with us, we will do our best to rebook the property and return your deposit minus $100 processing fee. If the cottage remains vacant for that period, your deposit will be forfeited in full. The Booking Fee is non-refundable.
